Groundswell Community Justice Trust Fund is an extraordinary community infrastructure that fuels grassroots social movements and campaigns, that operate beyond the bounds of government grands and mainstream non-profit worlds. Formed in 2011, Groundswell builds lasting financial infrastructure to support decolonized, socially and ecologically just futures. Please visit our website to read more!

We are Jewish faculty from universities and colleges across Canada who share a strong commitment to social justice in support of an ethical life. We refuse an essentialist vision of Judaism and Jewish nationalism associated with the State of Israel which declares any criticism of that vision as antisemitic. We follow a much longer history of Jewish ethics which encourages dissent and self-reflection and which recognizes the equal worth of all who live between the river and the sea, and strives to ensure a future centered around equal rights and dignity for all.

Colleague to Colleague – the University of Toronto Faculty and Librarian Solidarity Fund, was organized by a group of colleagues in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the dramatically uneven impacts it has had on lives and livelihoods. The fund allows those of us who are able to share resources with more precarious workers on campus and is one part of the growing solidarity that has blossomed in the current context, from climate and divestment activism and critiques of the entanglement of corporate extractivism in the university; to workplace health, equity, and safety advocacy for essential workers, especially in the context of re-opening plans; and to calls for action on entrenched anti-Blackness and other forms of racism on campus.

Divestment and Beyond is a growing movement dedicated to fossil fuel divestment and a socially just climate transition at the University of Toronto. We have regular participation from faculty, staff, and students from multiple academic units on all three UofT campuses as well as from organizations such as Leap Chapter U of T, Climate Justice TO, and The List. We are always looking for new members and new ideas. If you would like to get involved, please write to DivestmentandBeyondUofT@gmail.com..
